I am with you on paying a certain amount and expecting some things. We can't find a hotel in Yankton, SD for less than $100 for goodness sakes. Looks like you found some deals in S.F.

Mariko:

Thanks for the info. I really wanted to stay there and we definitely would have if the restaurant hadn't been closed over the dates of our trip. It's good to hear that the hotel is as nice as it looks on their site.

Hi, I am a fellow Portlander who has been reading your blog for a number of months now! I stayed in the Cornell Hotel last year and really enjoyed it. It's very quaint, and the parking is extra, but it is half the price that all the other downtown hotels charge. I love that Noel the dog walks you to your room when you check in. Glad you had a nice trip.

I drive past Hotel del Sol every day on the way home from work, and since i am working 6 day weeks and you stayed 2 nights, this means that at one point in time I must have definitely driven past you without knowing it!
