we've eaten at pangaea perhaps 12 times and have NEVER been disappointed! the home-made bread to start is served with a selection of delicious olives and one could make a meal out of those alone (with some nice wine or beer). the ingredients are mainly locally sourced and very well cooked by rob and staff.

it's always a pleasure to see jill at the door to receive a warm greeting. and the art! they always have a great collection on the walls. the "logo" painting was done by eduardo smissen who's amazing.

we always look forward to eating there. the only complaint is that the smaller side room can be a bit noisy when filled, but the food and ambiance is worth even that.

We were in Gualala on Friday and based on another review decided to eat at Pangea.

We ordered the Cauliflower soup and a warm salad as appetizers. The soup was completely bland and without character, the salad was fine.

For main course, we ordered the Pork chop and Rib-eye. The pork was overdone and not moist at all and the rib-eye, while correctly cooked, was oily.

On top of that the wine, which was interesting was not worth $49. I was stunned that the wine list started at $47 for a nothing special wine and went up from there.

All in all we were quite disappointed.
